The new South African Information Crime Bureau launched a new website on the 1st of March the site is primarily information focused by explaining how the SAICB operates and how it can assist in the fight against crime users will be able to report alleged crimes and fraud attempts while being able to remain anonymous.
The sharing of information has already led to the identification of fraudulent behavior by certain individuals, the presence of syndicates that are now under investigation, all leading to the industry saving time and preventing further fraud from taking place.
There are 11 active members in the South African Information Crime Bureau, including Santam, Lion of Africa, Absa Insurance, Standard Insurance and Mutual and Federal.
Periodic update of SAIBC successes will appear on the website to encourage the public to report suspected insurance fraud and crime, and to update the public and industry on how the fight against crime is going.
